A day on the Pan American Highway

Left Lima at 0900 bound for Trujillo - Peru's third largest city and in the north of the country. Really good bus - even had WiFi! Starting to get worrying how easy it is to spend 9 hours doing very little.

Took about an hour to get out of the city but as you can see, some great scenes - can you spot the chickens for sale - freshly smoked ?!

The journey was almost all on the Pan-American Highway. Sounds more romantic than it really is - mainly through desert landscapes but occasionally touched the Pacific coast - not that Tina noticed!

Weather improved as we headed north - even the tuk - tuk's needed a rest from the afternoon sun.
Arrived at Huanchaco - a small surfing resort in time for dinner overlooking the sea - just me, Tina and Alex, the guide! Alex is great but very forgetful & Tina is loving having someone to look after and make sure they don't lose anything - reminds her of her son!
Planning on going for a run along the beach tomorrow - but it sounds too strenous at the moment!

  1. Thank goodness for Alex being so forgetful at least she won't miss Matt quite so much. Great blog once again and photo's. I am able to transfer the photo's to my album.
