Taking it easy in La Paz

A quiet day continuing to explore La Paz. We have had a great couple of days here. The city is a little calmer after yesterday's demonstration - which was apparently over a public sector pay freeze! Seems a really 'authentic' and friendly city - not being hassled (yet) and not too many tourists around.
Great view of the mountain yesterday evening from our hotel.

The main square of La Paz - great Spanish colonial architecture.

The Witches Market - check out the dried Llama foetus! - and all Tina wanted was an Alpaca Hat!

Start the tour this evening with a meeting and dinner. Looks like 8 of us in total although not all are staying for the full 38 days. Early start tomorrow with a bus journey to Lake Titicaca and into Peru. May give you all a break from the blog as not sure they will have internet when we are staying with a local family on an island on the lake!

Would be good to hear from anyone with their news - tikm.fishy@btinternet.com. We have been together for 4 weeks without a break - will give us something else to talk about!

  1. Don't know if you got my comment the other day, as I can't see it on your blog - but the general gist was, please please please would you get me a bowler hat like the ladies wear, and a colourful poncho please please? Will get the money to you asap.....
