Breakfast for One!

A good if slow journey yesterday in Peru from Puno to Cusco. Lovely scenery in the mountains and even better as we travelled down towards Cusco. Good to see green fields and hills!

Cusco is a really interesting place - the birthplace of the Inca's and the largest archeological site in the America's. It is also the most popular tourist destination in South America and the gateway to the Inca Trail.

Plenty going on in the city this weekend - and plenty to see. The other members of our group have gone off for a three day jungle excursion (we will do one when we are in Ecuador) so it is just us for a few days.

In actual fact it has been just Ian today as Tina ate something yesterday which disagreed with her and she has spent most of the day 'relaxing' in the hotel. At least the view from the cafe balcony for my 'breakfast for one' made up for the fact that Tina wasn't there!

We had planned to go horseriding tomorrow but have decided against it as we need to make sure that Tina is fit for the Inca Trail later in the week. She is up and about and hopefully will be able to do some sightseeing tomorrow.

Weather has been good - getting hotter as we move north but still cold at night. Just hope it holds for the Trail (and gets a bit warmer at night for the camping!)
