It's been all about BA

No not British Airways, but Buenos Aires, Burton Albion and Bariloche in the Andes!

Now got internet access but unable to load pictures as yet. A busy few days starting on Friday with a trip to the Brazilian side of the Falls. Our one and only time in Brazil. A wet day but not because of the occasional showers but because we decided to walk out onto the observation platform in the middle of the waterfalls! surprisingly not many people did, we discovered why! Good to see the falls from the other side and also to include a visit to the nearby bird gardens, getting close to the tucans! big beaks! Then a flight back to Buenos Aires and our first night in 15 pound hotel, the rooms were like a seaside B & B in the 1970's, real character as was the Argentinian owner.
Next two days spent in Buenos Aires visiting the Parks on the first day and stumbled upon the national polo stadium which was holding a military tattoo (we kept quiet about being British) amazing horses, as well as helicpters and skydivers. We then heard that Bournemouth had got promoted (Ian very excited) so off we went to the waterfront for a celebratory meal, which of course included a glass of champagne! (budget blown).
Sunday morning was the antique's market in old Buenos Aires (San Telmo) saw a good exhibition of Tango dancing by an old couple who were accompanied by a Spanish guitarist.
Collected our rucksacks and caught the local bus to the main station (they are getting heavier! especially when you have to stand on the bus).
Started our 20 hour bus journey in fine style, flat beds, right at the front of the top deck, movies on demand, and the steward bringing drinks and food throughout the trip (didn't know we would get food as well, very civilized). Much more comfortable and enjoyable than expected, its a shame not all our bus journey's will be like this. Arrived at our Hostel around midday (our friend Gerald suggested) lovely views, we are definitely the oldest here! Someone even carried my rucksack upstairs for me! Ah (it wasn't Ian). Weather is set fair but chilly for the next 3 days, so its off exploring in the Andes by bus, car, chairlift and foot .........updates soon! Next destination unknown!
Well done to Hazel and David of course for completing the London Marathon!!

  3. You Beat the Ash, Becoming Airborne with Brotherly Assistance. Enjoying this Blog About Bournemouth Adventurers, not typical Brits Abroad and now in Budget Accommodation. And despite Ian's concerns over grammar and punctuation, not too many Bad Apostrophes.
It's a Blistering April here, a Beer Awaits.
Begrudging Apologies for the BA Bullshit.
    Your trip sounds Bloody Awesome.
