A different side of Buenos Aires

Today started with first going to the main bus station to get our tickets ready for our 20hr bus ride to Bariloche until we realised when we went to pay that Ian had forgotten the money! Anyway as Ian says thats life! Tina won't say what she said!

We headed for La Boca - Historically the immigrant quarter, didn't go too far off the beaten track but did venture onto the local transport, first using the subway again, still no tourists, we were getting stared at, then we thought we would ask a kind looking policeman who pointed us in the direction of a bus, oops very run down bus station and after nearly getting on the wrong bus (Tina used awkward spanish to the lady in the queue who said no no 'frente' we decided to get the local taxi). First stop was the La Boca Junior stadium just to keep Ian quiet! amazingly steep terracing and nothing like Dean Court.

Then after lunch at an outdoor grill - looked good but the food not that great, we went to Caminito. This is a very touristy part of La Boca, the painted houses Maradona look alikes and tango dancers everywhere.
So where to next, we thought we would try the local bus, yet another local helped us out by telling us which bus! Great on we get then oh the tickets, the bus driver babbling away in Spanish telling us to put change into the machine, not enough change. This time a man from Uruguay came to the rescue, made it back to the Hotel.
Tomorrow off to Iguazu Falls, but they said thunderstorms so the Park maybe shut!
Oh and just to let you know Nigel now back in England, after the longest drive of his life - Thanks again Nigel x
Ian would like to add that he takes no responsibilty for the grammar, punctuation or content of this blog! (thats twice we have fallen out now)
